Customer: Sevan Marine ASA
The FPSO Sevan Marine is moored in 1000m of water, where it operates under lease to Brazilian national oil company Petrobras S.A. With an oil storage capacity of 300,000 barrels and an oil processing capacity of 30,000 barrels per day, the FPSO also has a processing plant for hydrocarbons installed on the deck and depending on the characteristics of the field the processing plant has different modules for processing oil, gas and water. The vessel required a power source that can run on both diesel and associated gas to meet their baseload requirement. Due to the limited space available, the solution also needs to be compact and lightweight.
By installing three OPRA OP16-3A dual fuel gas turbine generator sets, Sevan Marine was successfully able to reduce their carbon emission significantly by 30 – 40%. This robust, reliable and innovative solution ensures Sevan Marine can have a reliable source of power available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
